Finn was found abandoned in the woods and adopted by the dog couple Margaret and Joshua. He and his brother Jake have since moved in to a treehouse and now serve as champions of Princess Bubblegum's Candy Kingdom.
At Mask or Menace Finn works part-time at a candy shop in Nonah. He's getting a full-time, structured education for the first time in his life. He lives in government housing Residence 3 with several others.

Phsychic Acuity
Finn has minor psychic abilities, only slightly greater than that of the normal person. He's able to astral project in his sleep, though he doesn't have much conscious control over where he goes or when it happens. He can regain knowledge from his past lives while under hypnosis, or through vague metaphors in his dreams. He's able to resist mind-reading to a certain extent, primarily by imagining strange things to distract himself. If he really concentrates he can summon an astral beast to help him, specifically a swarm of butterflies that he can control to slap people or pick up bottles or something. Under great stress he is able to overcome magical transformations, such as when he ripped himself out of his cat body in "Wizard Battle".

After drinking from a magic spring Finn gained immunity to electricity. All this means is that he can't be harmed by electric shocks. In every other way he responds normally to electrical stimuli, which is probably what allows his prosthetic arm to function. Additionally, this immunity does not extend to his robot arm.
